[Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī, 450]
Al-Huda Islamic Center is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded in 2019 and proudly rooted in Katy, Texas.
We are both a house of worship and a community center, a place where families gather to pray, where children come to learn and grow, and where neighbors build meaningful relationships. From our humble beginnings, our doors have been open to Muslims and non-Muslims alike. Our mission has remained unchanged: to practice and present our faith with integrity, to serve our neighbors, and to build bridges of understanding rather than walls of division.
In recent months, a small number of online accounts have circulated false and misleading claims about who we are and what we are building. Our neighbors, our members, and the public deserve to hear directly from us.
Al-Huda Islamic Center currently operates a mosque, educational programs, youth activities, and community services. As our community grows, we hope to expand responsibly to include additional facilities such as a community center, educational facilities, recreational facilities, a daycare center, healthcare services, senior support programs, a gymnasium, and other family-oriented amenities that benefit both our members and the wider community.
Our vision follows a longstanding American tradition of faith-based institutions serving as anchors of community life much like churches with parish halls, synagogues with community centers, and organizations such as the YMCA. These spaces provide opportunities for worship, education, service, recreation, and community engagement.
Any future residential development associated with our broader vision would fully comply with all applicable federal, state, and local laws, zoning regulations, and fair housing requirements. Housing would not be restricted based on religion, ethnicity, national origin, or any other protected characteristic. Like any other lawful residential community, it would be open to qualified residents consistent with applicable laws and regulations.
Our goal has always been to welcome the broader community in and not to keep anyone out.
There is nothing hidden about how Al-Huda Islamic Center operates. We are a registered Texas nonprofit organization. Our leadership is publicly known. Our programs are openly advertised. Our finances are subject to the same legal reporting and disclosure requirements that apply to every other 501(c)(3) organization in the United States.
Anyone interested in learning about our work is encouraged to review our public materials, attend our programs, or visit us in person. Transparency and accountability have been central to our mission since our founding.
For Muslims, Sharia-compliant religious practice includes prayer, charity, fasting, dietary observance, ethical financial practices, and religious rites such as marriage and burial. These are matters of personal faith and religious observance protected by the First Amendment of the United States Constitution.
In this respect, Islamic religious practices are no different in principle from Jewish religious law, Catholic canon law, or the faith traditions observed by many religious communities throughout America.
Al-Huda Islamic Center operates fully within, and with deep respect for, the Constitution and laws of the United States, the State of Texas, and all local governing authorities.
The opposite is true.
Since our founding, Al-Huda Islamic Center has welcomed people of all faiths and backgrounds. Our programs have served Muslims and non-Muslims alike, and we have hosted community events, educational programs, and recreational activities that are open to everyone.
Today, our grounds are regularly shared with members of the broader community for activities such as soccer, cricket, and basketball, regardless of their faith, background, or beliefs. We believe that shared spaces create stronger relationships and help foster mutual understanding among neighbors.
Elected officials, community leaders, neighbors, and visitors from diverse backgrounds have visited our center, met our members, and experienced our hospitality firsthand. They have seen for themselves the values that guide our work: faith, service, compassion, and respect for all people.
That invitation remains open today.
We welcome our neighbors, community organizations, faith leaders, elected representatives, and anyone interested in learning more about us to visit, ask questions, share a meal, and meet the families who call this community home.
At Al-Huda Islamic Center, we believe that strong communities are built through relationships, transparency, and mutual respect. We remain committed to being a positive and contributing part of Katy and the greater Houston region for generations to come.
Sincerely,
Al-Huda Islamic Center

As leaders of Al-Huda Islamic Center, we are deeply grateful for the trust and support we have received from our neighbors, community members, elected officials, and friends throughout Katy and the greater Houston area.
We recognize that questions may arise whenever a faith community grows and expands its services. We welcome those questions and believe that the best way to address them is through openness, dialogue, and personal engagement. We encourage anyone seeking information about our organization, our programs, or our future plans to visit us, speak with our leadership, and experience our community firsthand.
Al-Huda Islamic Center is committed to the values that have guided us since our founding: faith, service, education, compassion, and respect for all people. We are proud to be Americans, proud to be Texans, and proud to contribute positively to the communities we call home.
Our vision is simple: to create a welcoming place where families can worship, learn, serve others, and build meaningful relationships with their neighbors. We believe that strong communities are built through cooperation, understanding, and mutual respect, and we remain committed to being a partner in strengthening the social fabric of Katy for generations to come.
We thank everyone who has supported our mission and invite all members of the public to continue engaging with us as we grow together.
Sincerely,
Al-Huda Leadership
